If your life is anything like mine, I know how busy you are. I truly appreciate your time and promise to try to make your visit worthwhile and put a smile on your face and a hug in your heart.
Who am I?
An eternal optimist, who sees the good in everyone and in everything around me. Perhaps because I’ve struggled with a chronic illness for the past 30 years since I’ve been a little kid, I’ve learned to embrace each day, and be grateful for all that I am, all that I have and all that I love.
I’m also a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a special education teacher, an artist, a summer lover, a beach bum, a fan of all things “smiles,” a dessert fiend, and a firm believer in the power of hugs.
What can I offer you?
A chance to be inspired to see the positive and not get caught up, as we all can, in all the negativity that surrounds us. A way to grab the smallest moments and make them GREAT!
As a curator and creator of content that exemplifies this view, I’ll share an upbeat story; a touching quote; a joke or two to make you laugh: an old book you might have missed, a new one you haven’t heard about yet; a photo to warm your heart; an extraordinary moment; a great dessert recipe to add sweetness to life – and yes, a little sugar may just brighten the day, the moment, the mood; an inspirational thought, or some good ideas to discuss with your family and friends.
So, why a Blog?
Because I believe that giving is more important than getting, a value that I know many people share, I thought blogging might be one other way that I could “give” to help others. And, though I certainly don’t view myself as wiser than any of you, I just hope that my humble attempt to share my simple words and positive views can make a difference and bring some joy and happiness to my readers.
As The Hugsmilers try to “make the world a better place, one hug at a time” – I hope my blog will too!
